A happy accidental find while craving dosa at 10 pm. Cafe kitchen closes at 9:45 pm but the person on the counter let me order my dosa past 9:45. The food was excellent, but the experience was priceless. It felt like stepping into a haydrabadi cafe in India, where folks gather at night and have good food while hanging out. Experiencing this, on the other side of the globe past 10 pm while eating homestyle dosa with a background of South Indian item songs was so bizarre yet super nostalgic and hence oddly comforting ! Would I go back? Ofcourse!
We had the thate podi idlli , ghee benne dosa and ghee benne masala Karam dosa On the idilli the masala on top was not enough but maybe that's how it is served traditionally. Nevertheless it was tasty and the chutney that it comes with were good. But I prefer the coconut chutney The benne dosa was amazing. The karma dosa was spicy/hot and the potatoes came on the side instead of inside the dosa very delicious We also had chai which was good and mango Lassi Overall this place feels very traditionally authentic food. Although I am not from the place where dosa comes from but if I was I guess this is how it should taste
This is first time I visited this cafe Little bit disappointed In Dine In Menu it was mentioned 3 Poori’s with Aloo $9.99 , but they gave only 2 poori’s with Aloo.. I asked him the issue he said that is the wrong info in Menu.. our system shows 2 poori’s with Aloo..8.99$ .. after he gave one poori .. Management please make sure the menu item quantity & price .. should match in your system same as well I Ordered Benne Masala Dosa & Poori with aloo..Benne masala dosa taste was fabulous.however poori was little bit thin and too crispy..Aloo curry very nice
This charming restaurant offers an authentic and wholesome experience. The service was friendly, and the food was excellent. We had the goat biryani and chicken with dosa combo, both packed with flavor. I also appreciate that they serve the food mostly on paper plates and bowls instead of Styrofoam or plastic. The mango lassi was a perfect finish. Can't wait to come back!
4.5 * Tried the benne dosa at this place. It was very good. Smelled good too with the aroma of butter. The chutneys were strictly average - the peanut one could use some spice and salt and the ginger one was a bit too sweet for my liking. The sambar and the potato masala were decent. Husband liked the goat fry biryani we brought home - a bit too greasy tho'. Service is friendly though they appear undertstaffed with the same two people shuttling between the counter and the kitchen. The place itself is barebones and quite rundown in a strip mall. Prices are higher at the register than both their in store and online menus.
I am from St. Louis and visited Atlanta, where I tried the food at Andhrawala Cafe. The Punugulu, Ghee Karam Benne Dosa, Ghee Karam Tatte Idly, and Chicken Keema Omelette were absolutely amazing! The dosa and sambar were the best I’ve ever had , and the staff was super friendly. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for delicious Indian food in Atlanta!
Truly authentic Indian food with many flavors and worth the value for money! We ordered quite a few dishes and almost all were good. Thatte idly and Paaka podi idly are one of the must try items among the dishes we tried. Coming to desserts their gulab jamun is really yummy. The quality and quantity are good too! Ambience is cozy with all the hand painted art. I would strongly recommend if you are looking for tasty and amazing Indian food.
